Bataka Vada
Bataka is potatoes in Gujrati – The Vada or bondas made out of Boiled Potatoes is a nutritious and tempting offering to Little Thakurji.
Ingredients
- 2 Boiled , mashed Potatoes
- Salt to taste ,
- 1/4 tsp termeric powder
- 1 tbs Coriander leaves
- 1 finely chopped chilli
- 1tsp Grated Coconut
- 1/4th tsp lemon juice
- Besan for binding
- Ghee for deep frying.
Preparation Method
Mix mashed potatoes, coriander choped leaves, chillies, salt , lemon juice, termeric powder , coconutand knead properly – to make small balls .
Make a smooth flowing batter of Besan adding salt and termeric with water.
Meanwhile heat Ghee in a deep frying pan , dip the Potato balls in besan batter and carefully drop into the hot ghee – repeat with all the balls – roll and fry properly .
Take them out on Tissue paper to avoid excess ghee.
Serve on a platter with Green chutney and Tulsi leaf.
